Dorothy Lane Enjoys Early Success With CBORD's Foodservice Suite
For Immediate Release
February 9, 2000Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group, Inc. is pleased to report that Dorothy Lane Markets are now using CBORD’s Foodservice Suite™ to manage key aspects of their business. Dorothy Lane Markets, with two locations in Dayton, Ohio, began using CBORD systems for foodservice management just two months ago, in part to address new management challenges associated with their "gourmet takeaway" department.
"Pricing dry goods and groceries is very different from pricing prepared foods," explained Amy Brinkmoeller, Manager of Information Systems at Dorothy Lane’s Washington Square store. "As prepared foods become the core of our business, tracking costs is critically important."
With CBORD’s Foodservice Suite™ Dorothy Lane intends to automate their takeaway business for optimum efficiency, reducing food costs and streamlining interactions with vendors. They will use CBORD’s point-of-sale (POS) interface to track the popularity of takeaway items as they’re being sold. They’ll also establish a menu history so they can forecast their future needs and offer their customers the selections they want. "Tracking items as they’re being sold and comparing that data to forecast numbers is one of our implementation goals," said Brinkmoeller.
